What is Coaching?

Coaching is a powerful and unique co-creative partnership between a client and a coach. Through weekly coaching sessions, coaches work with clients to identify their goals and support them in achieving what they truly want to achieve.

What Does a Coach Do?

·         A coach helps the client to clarify and set goals that the client truly wants to achieve.

·         A coach works with the client to develop and/or improve specific skills that will help the client achieve specific goals.

·         A coach helps clients to focus in order to achieve results more quickly.

·         A coach provides the support, structure, and tools to help the client reach their goals.

·         A coach acts as a partner rather than an expert.

What Does the Client Do?

·         The client is responsible for bringing the agenda to each session.

·         The client decides which goals and actions are best.

·         The client follows through on agreed upon actions that will move them towards achieving their goals.

·         The client is responsible for their own decisions, actions, beliefs, and feelings.

How is Coaching Different from Therapy or Consulting?

·         Therapy focuses on deeply exploring past or present emotional or psychological issues and/or traumatic events. Coaching is solution-focused, action-oriented, and focused on the present and future. 

·         Consulting involves someone taking on the role of expert and giving the client the answers and solutions. Coaching involves working with clients to help them find and create their own individual answers and solutions.
